These wee ones are the full siblings of the litter just born ~ 30th August, 2010. Their parents ~ Ulla and Levi ~ are both retiring. Thus this is their last litter. We have: 3 blue point Balinese boys. The biggest Pumpkin, looks sooo much like Ulla did at the same age:

For this Last litter of Ulla and Levi ~ born 30th Aug 2010 ~ we will be putting up a list of the available kittens, with individual photos and individual prices, as soon as the kittens are old enough to determine particular characteristics. Prices and availability are subject to change until we have a contract to sell, with deposit, from approved families. The cost of kittens will start at £500. Our kittens visit the vet at least 2 times; they receive their first years flu vax jabs and are preventatively treated for parasites; they come from a disease (FIV and FeLV) free home; are registered with the Traditional Cat Association and are members of TICA. We offer a copy of the kitten's 6 generation pedigree. However, as the kittens are old style (traditional) and their mum comes from the US, we do not register with GCCF. Hello again. It's been a very long time since I've posted here. Since we had sold all of our kittens by December 08 ~ there were some amazing babies who we didn't even have time to mention.

Now's my chance!!!
This is our Mia ~ lilac Balinese ~ living here.

Because the next 2 litters expected in mid-June ~ are from the same parents (Levi - the dad, Lili and Ulla - the moms) I'm going to post a few images and videos from last year's wonderful kittens who have long gone to wonderful homes.

I can say with confidence: we have the most amazing kittens from Levi - Ulla and Lili. The only unknowns: gender and coat. Until they arrive, enjoy these goofy guys and girls ~ full brothers and sisters of the expected June arrivals: the lilac boys!

We were very surprised - never having had solids before - and 5 of her 6 are solid. Four of those are blue - or a very dark grey (almost black) 2 boys and 2 girls. The other 2 kittens are: 1 chocolate solid boy & 1 (the one and only) pointed girl.

This little girl is probably a blue point - and she is reserved. I have people coming this weekend and next week. We have 3 reservations and many more emails of interest. So they won't be available long. They're all very healthy and will be eating soon - cute little round faces, but all quite different personalities. Call soon if interested. Some will be ready by Christmas - but we don't endorse kittens just for presents. We do recognize that many people who come for kittens have been looking for a while and the holidays are simply a good time to bring home a new being - especially if the new owners have more time off and more time to spend with the new baby.

Also - Ulla is due any minute now. Many of her unborn kittens are already reserved. Ulla's last litter with Levi was so very special that we are confident that these little ones will be flying out the door. Due to the new economy we will be determining cost closer to the time of delivery. The starting price of $800 or £450 - £550 GBP will remain in effect through this litter (exchange rates for other currency will be effective at the time of sale). And for now we will continue honoring the same policies we maintained in the US, for those interested in breeding. To receive papers with permission to breed we are asking for the price of one kitten or pick of the first litter. Kittens are now going to be registered with TCA and TICA.

Lili ~

will be delivering ~ some time between October 15 and 20, 2008. We're expecting a great big litter as she is great big already at one month.

The kittens will all probably have short hair (though we may be surprised) and colors to be announced. We have used a new dad, who seems very nice and is very handsome. We do expect the kittens to be classic and traditional by US standards.

Ulla ~

is breeding now and will have kittens between November 26 and 30, 2008. She is with Levi again and last time all the kittens were blue and lilac ~ all will be Balinese (long hair). They too should be traditional and classic by US standards. We know from last time that Ulla and Levi produce wonderful babies.

We have several reservations already, so please let us know soon if you plan to take a kitten of your own. You can print out a reservation form on the reservation page link and send it to us with a deposit if you know what kind of kitten you'd like us to hold for you. Always call first to go over everything beforehand.

We currently have 4 Beautiful Balinese Boys looking for new homes in the UK and nearby.

Two of the boys are perfect traditional blue point Balinese, who look and act a lot like Ulla - their mum and Danny - their grandfather. They couldn't be more loving, caring and fun.

As for the other kittens... We have 1 girl who will be staying here and 2 boys; a lilac and a blue...
but before anything I must tell you their story. On 10th of March 2008 Ulla delivered 5 healthy Balinese kittens. Their father is Levi of Baligems ~ Frisby-on-the-Wreake.

Levi is a Classic looking Balinese, with violet eyes and a pedigree that goes back to the beginning of Balinese in the UK. If you read the blog all the way back to June 2006---

Ulla is a prodigy of Island Blues: daughter of Danny and Lili, and so on back to our beginnings.

Ulla and Levi have nothing but champion Balinese bloodlines in their pedigrees. I'm relating all this because something funny happened. The story:

This is Ulla and Levi's only daughter, Punz - short for Rapunzel. Punz, Snowdrop, sometimes Angel ~ until we give her a proper Gaelic name ~ was born, like her brothers on 10 March, with a full coat of fluffy Balinese fur. She cried a lot though and seemed a bit uncomfortable, though eating well and able to keep up with the guys. Well, by 10 days old ...

Punz had lost most of her coat - that's right she was going bald. Frantic, I called the vet, first here in the UK and when they had no idea what it could be we called our Dr Cronin in the US. We tossed ideas around, but Nothing seemed to fit. There was no explanation and no one had had this happen before.

A few days later brother Mokie seemed to be loosing his fur too! And soon after Arthur joined in. So I took all 5 to Castle Douglas and asked the vet to please take skin and coat samples, check for mites or ringworm or anything it might be.

Knowing it wasn't the problem the vet here took the samples and asked if she could contact specialists at the Royal Dick in Edinburgh. Of course I was grateful. Not an hour later the dermatologist specialist from Austria called and was very excited to see this rare phenomena. I agreed to go to Edinburgh with the lot of them, but first I decided to do some homework. I read up on feline alopecia and the only thing that made sense was possibly a gene mutation or a long dormant recessive trait needed to be carried by both parents.

What a fluke. Could these little moggies be going through the same thing the first Sphynx in Canada went through? Or most closely related - the Don Sphynx of Russia? Meanwhile, the kittens were all eating well and even began to regrow a new coat. We have contacted the UC Davis Feline Genome project to see if we can actually determine if there has been a gene mutation.

Today, at 7 weeks, the new coats the kittens have grown are exceedingly soft, like plush silk velvet, suede or chamois. Their coats continue to fill out but they don't have the length or top coat of the Balinese or any traits of the Siamese. We are therefore going ahead - until results are in - and will assume that we have the beginnings of a new breed, for now they will be called the Frisby Balinese, for their father's location.

Today Mokie is petite, but has good size feet. He is the smartest, sweetest, most courageous little fellow. Most likely he will stay close by, if not here.

Arthur never really lost all his fur, before he'd grown a new fine coat of soft velvet.

And as for Punz... well she is a beauty queen and we can't wait till she's old enough to strut her stuff and perhaps one day have her own kittens.

Forres ~ Near Findhorn ~ A story.
Mo and SweatPea - Mo was born breech and still, he was cold and limp. I was in the US and Joe called me at 2am. With some support Joe gave Mo his first breath and today he is whole, healthy and very funny. He was also Ulla's only child and her milk dried up in a few days. And though raised by Lili as one of her own, he always slept apart or with Ulla and has a sense of himself - quite different from the others.

Sinbad - a sweat little blue, Siamese boy - often solo, very dear. Sinbad has had adventures, such as going up the chimney, because of which I've had to bath him more than once. And he was so very good and accepting - almost thankful.

Welcome to Scotland!
We were finally able to bring Lili and Oolah - our 2 dear expectant girls - both came at the beginning of October and gave birth at the end of November. A total of 5 - Old Fashioned, Traditional, Classic Kittens - 3 Balinese and 2 Siamese - Brilliant!

In the UK and Europe I'm finding it's hard to find Traditional Siamese - sometimes called Thai. The Old Style Siamese here is close to the Classic Siamese in the US. There are few if any Appleheads. And as for Balinese - Traditional Balinese, Classic Balinese, Old Fashioned or Old Style Balinese??? I haven't found a ONE yet. My Problem is finding buyers who know anything about them. Still there are a few who do. Two of the 3 Balinese are reserved and one Siamese.

We encourage visits to choose kittens in person - but will do our best if you can't make the trip. The last of Bear's and Lili's kittens will leave today. It's been so hard this time. Maybe knowing that this is Bear's last litter and Lili will follow in to retirement soon, as their wonderful Mom Fiona.

On Wednesday Fiona had her last litter - 3 girls and a boy - blues and seals. The boy is already claimed (if he is a seal) and one of the girls as well. We are also expecting one more litter - due in a few weeks. And lastly, Ula will begin breeding this spring and may have a litter before we take her, Lili and Fiona to Scotland in July. If so Dania or Noah will be in charge.

As of February 25 we have 10 new born Siamese kittens; 6 male and 4 female - blue, seal and a lilac. The Moms are blue and their dad - Judah above - is seal. We have the 2 milky chocolate Balinese boys left - Bear's and Lili's.

Bear's boy is very furry, he's very funny and has a face like a Polar Bear.

Lili's son is very tall and handsome. He has a smooth coat - like a long haired Siamese. He is so sweet and a bit of a late bloomer - just now really coming into his own.

We have decided for the benefit of the kittens, the new families and our whole brood that we will not be able to hold kittens anymore until a deposit has been received and clears through the bank. Thanks and warm hugs to all the babies and their new families.

It's been too long since my last post. There have been some changes to our plans - all good. So this is where we are now.

Simon - Fiona's Balinese seal has moved to NJ. Her blue point Siamese boy has moved upstate near Kingston. Lili's Siamese chocolate son will be leaving for the Rochester area soon. On the other hand Bear's precious furball (nick named Teddy) is still available. And Fiona's seal daughter is too. We still have Lili's lily white chocolate long haired son - best looking boy in the bunch. Photos below:

On Friday, September 30th Fiona's kittens (2 blues and 4 seals - 4 girls and 2 boys - 2 Balis) will be 9 weeks old. The girls are all spoken for.

On Tuesday, October 4th Lili's kittens (3 chocolate boys - 2 balis) will be 9 weeks old and ready to go. The one pictured above is a little love pillow.

Bear's babies are truly bear babies. Three chocolate boys - 2 of which are Balis - and a lilac girl will be 9 weeks on October 14th. One Balianese boy is still available.

We only had 2 blue kittens (with 3 blue moms) and this little one is the only boy. He's the brightest bulb in the bunch. He is still available and so sweet.
